My car insurance was cancelled after a claim – what should I do?
According to Art. 42 of the Insurance Contract Act (VVG), both the insurer and the policyholder may terminate the contract after a claim.
This regulation is set out in the General terms and conditions of insurance (T&Cs), Art. A3 para. 4.
Your vehicle must be insured with a new insurance company in good time so that you can continue to use it on the road.
1️⃣ Get a new quote
2️⃣ Take out insurance
3️⃣ Update your vehicle registration → Register the new insurance with your cantonal vehicle licensing office so that your vehicle remains registered.
