In an emergency, please follow these steps:


1. Contact us immediately

📞 In the event of a medical emergency or if you require assistance (e.g., for your journey home), you must call the emergency centre immediately.

It is available 24 hours a day—even if you are already back home.



2. Secure evidence📄

  • Veterinary certificate: Serious illnesses, injuries, or an unfavourable healing process must be confirmed by an official certificate.
  • Original receipts: Keep all invoices and receipts carefully and submit the originals.


📌 Important to know:
  • Self-organization: You are responsible for organizing everything on site (e.g., transport to the vet, care). The insurance will cover the costs retrospectively within the scope of the coverage.
  • No healing costs: Travel insurance does not cover veterinary treatment abroad. We cover the additional costs for travel or accommodation, but not the medical treatment itself. For this, we recommend separate pet insurance with “Worldwide protection”.
