# Is home contents insurance the same as personal liability insurance?


### ❌ No, these are two different types of insurance!

###### Home contents insurance
→ Protects your own belongings (e.g. furniture, electronics, clothing) against damage caused by fire, water, theft or other risks.

###### Personal liability insurance
→ Covers damages that you unintentionally inflict on other people or their property (e.g. if you accidentally damage something or hurt a person).

Both types of insurance complement each other, but they are not the same!
