Can I set the start date of the insurance to the date of travel, or does the insurance have to start before then?

This way, you are already covered in the event of a trip cancellation before you set off.

Important:

If, however, cover only begins on the departure date, any events and their consequences occurring between the booking and the departure are not insured.
