# What happens if my pet becomes seriously ill shortly before the trip?

### Cancellation costs insurance applies if you are unable to travel due to an insured event.

###### This includes:

* Serious illness or accident involving your dog or cat
* Unexpected worsening of a chronic condition
* Death of your insured pet
* Serious illness or death of the intended carer


###### 📌 Prerequisite:
The event must have occurred **after booking**and be medically certified (veterinary certificate).

💰 For events involving pets, a benefit limit of **CHF 5,000** applies.
