# What happens if my pet sitter (dog sitter) suddenly cancels?

###### **If you have simpego travel insurance, this is covered. ✅**


If your designated pet sitter **becomes seriously ill or dies shortly before your trip and** you are therefore unable to travel, **Cancellation costs insurance will** cover the contractual cancellation costs.

✈️ **What if this happens during your trip?**
If your dog sitter falls seriously ill or dies during your absence and the care of your dog or cat can no longer be guaranteed, **Personal assistance** will cover:
* ✅ **Unplanned return travel costs**
* ✅ Additional accommodation costs (within the scope of coverage)

### **📌 Important:**
Appropriate proof (e.g. doctor's certificate) is required.
For events relating to an insured pet, a maximum benefit of **CHF 5,000 per event** applies.
